Licensing Sub-Committee - Thursday, 13 November 2025 11.00 am
The Licensing Sub-Committee met to consider an application from AK Pizza London Limited, trading as Caprino's Pizza in East Sheen, for a new premises licence. The application requested permission to provide late night refreshment. Following concerns from local residents and the police, the sub-committee agreed to grant the licence, but with reduced hours and additional conditions.
Special Meeting, Council - Tuesday, 11 November 2025 7.00 pm
Richmond upon Thames Council convened to bestow the honour of Honorary Freeman of the Borough upon Sir Vince Cable, recognising his decades of public service and contributions to the Twickenham constituency. The motion, proposed by Councillor Gareth Roberts, Leader of the Council, and seconded by Councillor Andrée Frieze, Leader of the Opposition, was unanimously approved. Sir Vince Cable accepted the honour with a speech reflecting on his 50 years in the borough and his political career.

The Richmond upon Thames Council met to discuss a range of issues, including the adoption of the Local Plan, financial strategies, and motions related to council tax and sanctuary seekers. After debate, the council adopted the Local Plan and passed the motion on sanctuary seekers, but rejected a motion concerning council tax reductions and another about the council's approach to managing a deficit in funding for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Planning Committee - Wednesday, 17 September 2025 7.00 pm
At a meeting of the Planning Committee, councillors voted to delegate authority to the Head of Development Management to approve an application relating to 100 Church Road, Teddington, with amendments to conditions around windows. The application sought to remove a condition restricting working hours, and allow the building to be used 24/7. Councillors agreed to impose additional restrictions over obscured windows to the third floor of the building facing Railway Road.

The Licensing Sub-Committee met to discuss an application for a new premises licence for SD Food & Wine, located at the Cardinal Wolsey, The Green, Hampton Court Road, East Molesey, KT8 9BW. The application was granted, permitting the sale of alcohol for consumption off the premises from 8am to 11pm, Monday to Sunday, with several conditions to address concerns raised by local residents and the Metropolitan Police. The committee also approved the minutes from previous meetings held on 16 June 2025 and 1 July 2025.
