Cardiff Council's Cabinet is scheduled to convene on Thursday, 19 March 2026, with a packed agenda covering a range of significant local issues. Key discussions are expected to include the proposed renewal of the Business Improvement District (BID) for the city centre and Cardiff Bay, alongside plans for a new green crematorium and wake facility. The Cabinet will also consider the Housing Revenue Account Business Plan for 2026-27 and a new Tenant Engagement Strategy for 2026-2030, as well as proposals for recladding works at Beech House and Sycamore House. Further topics on the agenda include the procurement of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, the development of the Ely Youth Zone, and the potential introduction of a visitor levy. Additionally, the Cabinet will review the draft school admission arrangements for 2027/28 and a variation to the 2026/27 arrangements for St Mellons Church in Wales Voluntary Controlled Primary School. The meeting will also address the delivery of the Path to 70% plan to improve recycling performance, including changes to absorbent hygiene product collections and the introduction of a soft plastic collection service. Finally, an update on the International Sports Village project and the proposed Core Office strategy will be presented.

2024 Annual Progress Report - Local Air Quality Management

This is the annual statutory report which outlines the results of air quality monitoring undertaken on behalf of Cardiff Council by Shared Regulatory Services.  The report also provides an update on the implementation of measures as part of the city wide Air Quality Action Plan and will also provide an update to the implementation of the Clean Air Plan to demonstrate compliance on Castle Street.

New Housing Partnership Approval

  At the Cabinet Meeting of the 17th November 2022 the Cabinet received a report outlining proposal for a second Cardiff Housing Partnership, it was resolved at that meeting that: •           approval in principle be given to the implementation of a second Cardiff Housing Partnership Programme including the commencement of a procurement exercise to appoint a development partner. •           Approval be given to the list of development sites currently proposed to be included within a second partnership programme and approval that more suitable sites can be added into the programme, subject to complying with financial parameters including viability assessments and working within the HRA Business plan. •           authority be delegated to the Corporate Director for People and Communities in consultation with the Cabinet member for Housing and Communities, to manage all matters relating to the procurement process including agreeing the procurement route, agreeing the parameters and delivery model of a second partnership programme, agreeing the procurement documents, agreeing the evaluation criteria and the evaluation of the bids. •           It be noted that a subsequent report will be presented to Cabinet following the conclusion of the procurement process seeking approval to appoint the preferred Bidder
