During the meeting of North Northamptonshire Council, held on 11 December 2025, councillors approved the Corporate Parenting Board Annual Report 2024-25, the Northamptonshire Youth Justice Plan 2025-26, and the terms of reference for a Community Governance Review. They also agreed to introduce council tax premiums for long-term empty properties and second homes, and set the council tax base for 2026/27.
Planning Committee - Wednesday 10th December, 2025 7.00 pm
The North Northamptonshire Council Planning Committee met to discuss three planning applications, including a controversial proposal to modify an agreement for retail provision at the Stanton Cross development. The committee refused the modification to the Stanton Cross agreement, but approved the applications for a house extension in Raunds and a classroom replacement at Millbrook Junior School in Kettering, subject to conditions and further review.
Audit and Governance Committee - Monday 1st December, 2025 2.00 pm
The Audit and Governance Committee convened to discuss internal audit plans, risk management, and policies for fraud prevention and whistleblowing, and approved the recommendations that were put forward.

The North Northamptonshire Council Planning Committee met to discuss planning applications for a residential development in Wellingborough and a non-material amendment to an industrial development in Corby. The committee approved both applications, with conditions. Councillor Jennie Bone was also elected as vice-chair of the committee.
