At a meeting of Bromley Council, Councillor Jonathan Andrews was formally appointed as the new Mayor of Bromley, and Councillor Gemma Turrell was appointed as the Deputy Mayor. Councillors also discussed and approved changes to the council's capital programme, treasury management, financial regulations, contract procedure rules, local planning protocol and scheme of delegation to officers. Finally, they considered the Health and Wellbeing Board annual report and the Local Pension Board annual report.
Health and Wellbeing Board - Thursday 26 June 2025 1.30 pm
The Bromley Council Health and Wellbeing Board was scheduled to meet on 26 June 2025 to discuss a number of strategies and plans relating to health and wellbeing in the borough. These included the Bromley Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy, the Learning Disabilities Strategy, the Suicide Prevention Plan, and the Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Bexley and Bromley Sexual and Reproductive Health and HIV Strategy. Also on the agenda was neighbourhood health service development in Bromley, and a review of the board's work programme.
Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education - Wednesday 18 June 2025 6.00 pm
The Bromley Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) met on 2 April 2025, and agreed to appoint Kyoichiro Hosoya as a representative of the Buddhist faith. Members also discussed national and local updates on religious education, and agreed to convene an Agreed Syllabus Conference (ASC) to revise the current Bromley Agreed Syllabus.
Environment and Community Services Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 10 June 2025 7.00 pm
The Environment and Community Services Policy Development and Scrutiny Committee met to discuss a range of issues, including highway maintenance contracts, the Keston Ponds development project, and the Environment and Community Services Portfolio Plan. The committee also reviewed the ECS Risk Register and Contracts Register. Recommendations were made to the Portfolio Holders and the Executive regarding these matters.
