Additional Meeting, Democracy and Standards Committee - Monday 29th September, 2025 7.00 pm

The Democracy and Standards Committee met to discuss and approve recommendations to North Northamptonshire Council regarding updates to the council's constitution. Place and Environment Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 23rd September, 2025 6.30 pm, NEW

The Place and Environment Scrutiny Committee of North Northamptonshire Council met on 23 September 2025 to discuss a range of issues, including fire safety, cemetery regulations, transport, and community involvement in planning. At a meeting on 3 September 2025, North Northamptonshire Council discussed a range of issues, including public health, the appointment of independent persons, and political balance on council committees. Councillors approved the Director of Public Health’s annual report, the establishment of an Independent Remuneration Panel, and a scheme for the enrolment of Honorary Aldermen and Alderwomen. They also voted on several motions, approving those related to planning committees and business rates, while rejecting motions concerning a planning issue in Loddington/Cransley, service harmonisation and the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

Place and Environment Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday 2nd September, 2025 7.00 pm

The Place and Environment Scrutiny Committee met to discuss revisions to the council's carbon neutral target, the Anti-Social Behaviour Policy, the Zero-Emission Bus Scheme, and the Keyways Housing Allocations Scheme Review. The committee approved recommendations for each of these items, including realigning carbon neutral ambitions with the UK's net zero target by 2050 and requesting additional information and data on anti-social behaviour enforcement.

The Democracy and Standards Committee met to discuss a community governance review, appoint a co-opted member to the committee, and appoint members to the Independent Remuneration Panel and to the role of Independent Persons. The committee approved the timetable for the Community Governance Review 2025-26, recommended the appointment of Councillor Lora Lawman to the committee, recommended the appointment of five members to the Independent Remuneration Panel, and recommended the appointment of three Independent Persons.
