Council - Tuesday, 9 July 2024 10.00 am

Surrey Council met to discuss, among other business, their relationship with the newly elected national government, the provision of special educational needs support, and performance issues with the Council’s highways contractor, Ringway Infrastructure Services. The Council voted, without dissent, to approve the content of the Cabinet meeting on 25 June 2024, the minutes of the meeting on 21 May 2024, and the Scrutiny Annual Report 2023-24. They also approved a plan to update the Member Development Strategy.

Surrey Pension Fund Committee - Friday, 21 June 2024 11.15 am

The meeting covered routine updates on the activities of the Surrey Pension Fund, including the performance of investment managers and the Local Pension Board, the recent change programme and the adoption of an updated responsible investment policy. Members also discussed the implications of a recent Supreme Court ruling on fossil fuel companies, the performance of equity investments and the forward programme of work.

AGM, Council - Tuesday, 21 May 2024 10.00 am

The meeting saw Councillor Saj Hussain and Councillor Tim Hall re-elected unopposed as Chair and Vice-Chair of the council respectively. It also saw the adoption of the scheme of proportionality for the coming year, approval of the appointment of various committees, chairmen and vice-chairmen, as well as the appointment of Michael Coughlin as Interim Head of Paid Service from 3 June 2024 to 18 August 2024. Matthew Woods was also appointed as the independent member of the Audit and Governance Committee for a period of four years.

Extraordinary Meeting, Council - Tuesday, 9 April 2024 10.00 am

The meeting approved the appointments of a new Chief Executive and an interim Monitoring Officer for Surrey County Council. Councillors also received apologies from absent Councillors.

Surrey Pension Fund Committee - Friday, 22 March 2024 11.15 am

The Surrey Pension Fund Committee approved the Surrey Pensions Team's strategic plan for 2024-2025, a new training policy, and the budget for 2024/25. It also agreed to delegate to the Chair the final approval of the Fund’s application to become a signatory of the UK Stewardship Code, and noted a report on the Fund’s investment performance.
