The Strategic Development Committee resolved to approve all four planning applications before them. These were a Reserved Matters application for a Multi-Function Building (MFB) at the former Paint Factory and Central Thameside West, North Woolwich Road, Silvertown; a Reserved Matters application for 600 homes at Silvertown Quays, North Woolwich Road, Silvertown; a full planning application for 355 homes at 68-70 High Street, Stratford; and the correction of a Section 106 obligation concerning a previously approved hotel at London City Airport.

Council - Thursday 27th February 2025 7.00 p.m.

Newham Council approved its annual budget for 2025/26 which included a council tax rise of 8.99%. Two amendments to the budget, one from the Newham Independent Group and one from the Green Group were rejected.

Strategic Development Committee - Tuesday 4th February 2025 6.00 p.m.

This meeting was about deciding whether to approve three planning applications. Two of the applications had previously been approved by the London Legacy Development Corporation before those powers were transferred back to Newham Council. Councillors were also asked to consider a report on an application to change the use of two buildings at Royal Albert Dock from offices to student accommodation.

Budget Scrutiny Commission 2024 - Thursday 30th January 2025 7.00 p.m.

This meeting was scheduled to discuss the recommendations made by the Budget Scrutiny Commission in 2023 and to consider draft recommendations for the 2025/2026 budget. The meeting was also scheduled to receive a report from the Budget Scrutiny In-Year Working Party.
