Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Commission - Tuesday 30th July 2024 7.00 p.m.
This meeting of the Health and Adult Social Care Scrutiny Commission was scheduled to include updates from the Newham Place Partnership on how they have been managing their finances, and to consider their plans to prepare for future population growth. The Commission was also scheduled to consider a report on leisure activities in Newham, and to consider its future work plan.

The Pensions Committee noted updates on the Newham Pension Fund's administration, business plan and investment strategy. They also agreed to consult on a draft revised Investment Strategy Statement, which includes details on how the fund will meet its six investment and governance objectives.
Council - Monday 22nd July 2024 7.00 p.m.
The Council approved the delegation of planning powers from the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) to Newham Council, appointed a new Monitoring Officer and made appointments to several committees. The Council also debated a motion relating to comments about the Bangladeshi community made by the Labour Party leader, Sir Keir Starmer. An amendment to the motion, proposed by the Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz, was passed and the substantive motion, as amended, was agreed. A motion on child poverty was withdrawn. The Council also agreed a motion on the Newham dental crisis and a motion on temporary accommodation.
Local Development Committee - Wednesday 17th July 2024 6.30 p.m.
This meeting of the Local Development Committee was scheduled to include a discussion of three planning applications. These were an application by the London Borough of Newham for the change of use of a building from commercial units to a community space, an application for the construction of an entrance extension at Essex Primary School, and an application for the installation of a new visitor entrance at Sandringham Primary School.
