Standards Advisory Committee - Monday, 29th September, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Standards Advisory Committee met to discuss the preparations for the 2026 Member Induction Programme, and to review the quarterly update on the register of interests, gifts and hospitality. Councillors also received an update on the Member's Pledge, a behavioural framework being developed with the Centre for Governance and Scrutiny.

General Purposes Committee - Thursday, 25th September, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The General Purposes Committee met to discuss updates to the council's constitution and to review the initial plans for the member induction programme in 2026. The committee agreed to changes to the Pensions Board and Standards Advisory Committee terms of reference, and noted changes to the Mayor's Executive Scheme of Delegation, the Legal Services Scheme of Delegation, and the Communities Directorate Scheme of Delegation. Members also provided feedback on the proposed structure and content of the 2026 Member Induction Programme, particularly regarding skills development for councillors.

Children and Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee - Monday, 22nd September, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Children and Education Scrutiny Sub-Committee met to discuss social care reforms, the findings of a special educational needs and disability (SEND) inspection, and the sub-committee's work programme. Councillor Sulukh Ahmed was appointed as the vice chair of the sub-committee.

Cabinet - Wednesday, 17th September, 2025 5.30 p.m.

The Tower Hamlets Council cabinet met to discuss a range of issues, including gambling policy, safeguarding adults, allocation of the Household Support Fund, contracts, and budget monitoring. The cabinet approved the recommendations for all agenda items.

Housing & Regeneration Scrutiny Sub Committee - Tuesday, 16th September, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Housing & Regeneration Scrutiny Sub Committee met to discuss housing and regeneration priorities for 2025-26, receive an update on preparations for Awaab's Law[^2], and review the draft Housing Strategy. The committee discussed targets for affordable home building, improvements to council homes, and measures to address homelessness. They also talked about the challenges and opportunities in the private rented sector.
