The Bromley Council Executive met to discuss budget monitoring, capital programme adjustments, council tax support, the future of library services, housing delivery, and education capital works procurement. The Executive agreed to maintain the existing Council Tax Support Scheme for 2026/27 and recommended it to the Council, approved a revised Capital Programme, and agreed to seek an extension to the existing libraries service contract with Greenwich Leisure Limited (GLL). They also authorised the appropriation of land at Castlecombe Youth Centre Car Park for housing purposes.

TEMPORARY ACCOMMODATION ACQUISITION PROGRAMME

...to address the rising costs and demand for temporary accommodation, a leasehold model for acquiring up to 300 units was approved, a dedicated programme board was created, authority was delegated to the Director of Housing, Planning, Property and Regeneration for acquisitions with demonstrable financial benefits, and £1 million was allocated for transaction costs.
