The Place & Environment Scrutiny Committee decided to approve recommendations regarding the Carbon Management Plan Annual Report 2025/26 on 25 August 2026. The committee noted the positive work on the plan and provided feedback on its findings. They recommended the Carbon Management Task & Finish Group not proceed and requested a briefing note on financial and carbon savings from projects.

The Place & Environment Scrutiny Committee provided feedback on the Strategic Asset Management Plan framework and requested officers to brief all councillors on the plan. This decision was made on 25 August 2026.

The Place and Environment Scrutiny Committee approved the minutes of the meeting held on 28th July 2026. The committee recommended that officers amend the report on Future Options for the Management of Leisure Services to remove references to the sale or commercial letting of The Corn Market Hall.

The Place & Environment Scrutiny Committee of North Northamptonshire Council on 25 August 2026 approved the amended work programme. The committee requested that an additional item be included in the work programme concerning Home to School transport.

The Council of North Northamptonshire Council rejected three motions on 16 July 2026. The first motion requested an exception to flag flying policy to raise the Ukrainian flag on Ukraine Independence Day. The second motion called for the development of a High Street Revival Policy, establishment of a High Street Renewal Taskforce, and creation of a public register of long-term empty commercial properties. The third motion urged engagement with independent highways experts and neighbouring authorities regarding the impact of proposed developments on infrastructure.
