The Surrey County Council cabinet met on 24 June 2025, and among the items discussed was the Ofsted inspection of children's services, which were rated as 'good'. The cabinet also endorsed the School Organisation Plan 2025 and received an update on the Streetworks Taskforce. Members also discussed the ongoing reorganisation of local government in the county.

The Buckinghamshire Council and Surrey County Council Joint Trading Standards Service Committee met to discuss the joint service budget, the Official Food Standards and Feed Controls Service Plan, vapes enforcement, performance, and the Trading Standards enforcement policy. The committee was scheduled to review the action tracker and forward plan. The next meeting was scheduled for 6 November 2025.

The Surrey County Council Cabinet met on 27 May 2025, approving a plan to develop four council-owned sites for housing, including homes for people with mental health needs, and also approving funding for community projects in Guildford and Waverley. The cabinet also reviewed the financial outturn report for 2024/25.

AGM, Council - Tuesday, 20 May 2025 10.00 am

At the annual meeting of Surrey County Council, Councillor Tim Hall was elected as the new Chair, and Councillor Bernie Muir was elected as Vice-Chair. Councillor Tim Oliver OBE was re-elected as Leader of the Council for a four-year term. The council also discussed local government reorganisation, councillor absences, committee appointments, and various reports, including the officer code of conduct and the code of corporate governance.

Extraordinary Meeting, Cabinet - Wednesday, 7 May 2025 2.30 pm

The Surrey County Council cabinet met to approve the final plan for local government reorganisation (LGR) in Surrey, which proposes dividing the county into east and west unitary authorities, and to agree that Tim Oliver OBE, Leader of the Council, submits the plan to the government by the 9 May deadline. The cabinet also considered a report from the Council’s Select Committee Chairs and Vice Chairs group regarding devolution and LGR.
