The Sustainable Growth and Place Overview and Scrutiny Committee met to elect a chairman and vice-chairman, hear updates from cabinet members, and address a public question about the Newquay spaceport. Councillor Connor Donnithorne was elected Chairman, and Councillor Rory Gow was elected Vice Chairman. Cornwall Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority - Friday, 13th June, 2025 10.00 am
The Cornwall Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (IFCA) met on 13 June 2025, and re-elected Tony Tomlinson as Chairman and Councillor Kenny as Vice-Chairman. The committee noted and agreed to the budget outturn and reserves position for the 2024-25 financial year, as well as the audit report for the same period. Members also discussed the IFCA Officers' Report, covering a range of topics from vessel replacements to the impact of octopus on shellfish stocks.
East Sub-Area Planning Committee - Monday, 9th June, 2025 10.00 am
The East Sub-Area Planning Committee met to discuss three planning applications and an appeals report. Permission was granted for a slurry lagoon near Hatt, Saltash, and for outline planning permission for 30 dwellings in Bude, subject to conditions and Section 106 agreements[^1]. Permission in principle was granted for 5 dwellings in Marhamchurch.
