Council - Wednesday 10th September, 2025 7.00 pm
The City of Westminster Council met on 10 September 2025, and began by electing Councillor Hamza Taouzzale as Relief Chair for the meeting. Councillors then heard questions from the public on topics ranging from policing to street lighting, and debated issues including pedestrianisation of Oxford Street, homelessness, and street cleaning. The council also received and noted the Annual Report of Policy and Scrutiny Activity in 2024/25 and the Annual Report of the Audit and Performance Committee 2024/25.
Rating Advisory Panel - Tuesday 9th September, 2025 10.00 am
The Westminster Council Rating Advisory Panel met on Tuesday 9th September 2025. The agenda included discussion of Non-Domestic Rates (NNDR) relief applications, and a recommendation to exclude the public and press from a portion of the meeting.
Licensing Sub-Committee (1) - Thursday 4th September, 2025 10.00 am
The Licensing Sub-Committee (1) of Westminster Council scheduled a meeting to discuss three premises licence applications. The first two applications concerned requests to vary existing licenses, and the third was for a new premises licence. The sub-committee was scheduled to consider the City of Westminster statement of Licensing Policy, effective from October 2021, and guidance issued by the Secretary of State under Section 182 of the Licensing Act 2003.
Licensing Sub-Committee (1) - Thursday 14th August, 2025 10.00 am
The Licensing Sub-Committee (1) met on 14 August 2025, and approved a new premises licence for 63 Abbey Road, London, NW8 0AE. The committee agreed to grant the licence with conditions, permitting the sale of alcohol and defining opening times for the premises. The applicant, Calaviation Limited, intends to operate the premises as a family-friendly neighbourhood pub.
Planning Sub-Committee (1) - Tuesday 5th August, 2025 6.30 pm
The Planning Sub-Committee (1) of Westminster Council convened on Tuesday, 5 August 2025, to discuss several planning applications and a tree preservation order. The committee approved a new public realm guidance document, allocated funding for improvements to Maida Hill Market, and made decisions on planning applications for Charles Lane, Gloucester Terrace and Caroline Terrace. Additionally, they considered a Tree Preservation Order for a London plane tree on Hamilton Terrace.
