Councillors reviewed performance data, focusing on resident complaints and their handling, and examined the council's financial position, including areas of overspending and underspending. The committee also planned an informal session to discuss recommendations for their scrutiny review.

Audit and Risk Committee - Monday, 24th March, 2025 7.00 pm

The Audit and Risk Committee convened to discuss the council's financial position, review and approve the draft annual internal audit plan for 2025-26, and set the scope for future deep dives into areas of potential risk. The committee approved the Internal Audit Strategy, the Internal Audit Charter, and the Draft 2025/26 Annual Internal Audit Plan.

Corporate Resources and Economy Scrutiny Committee - Tuesday, 11th March, 2025 7.30 pm

The meeting discussed a successful pilot of a new thermal imaging scheme that helps residents identify how to make their homes more energy-efficient, and plans to develop the Council's work with anchor institutions[^2] in the Borough. The Committee heard a presentation from Councillor Sheila Chapman on the work of her Equalities, Communities and Inclusion portfolio, and then a presentation from Council officers on the Council's work with anchor institutions.

Budget Meeting, Council - Thursday, 27th February, 2025 7.15 pm

Islington Council agreed a balanced budget for 2025/26, set the level of council tax, and discussed the provision of public toilets in the borough.

Audit and Risk Committee - Tuesday, 18th February, 2025 7.30 pm, NEW

The Committee approved the council's statement of accounts for 2023-24, as well as the Pension Fund accounts, and were satisfied with the Auditor's Annual Report and Value for Money conclusions. The Committee noted the decision to end the shared Internal Audit service with Camden, and discussed the future work plan for the Committee.
