The council is scheduled to discuss a review of its constitution, changes to committee membership, and the appointment of independent members to the Audit and Governance Committee. Members will also consider motions related to Newham becoming a borough of sanctuary, supporting carers, and responsible immigration policies.

The Council of Newham is holding an extraordinary meeting. The agenda includes receiving apologies for absence, declarations of interest, and considering nominations for Honorary Alderperson and Honorary Freedom of the Borough Awards.

SACRE - Thursday 13th November 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Newham Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) met to discuss preparations for Inter Faith Week, review pupil survey results, and consider priorities for the coming year. The council was also scheduled to discuss a briefing paper on Ramadan, and a student RE project.

Themed, Council - Monday 10th November 2025 7.00 p.m.

The Newham Council meeting scheduled for 10 November 2025 included discussion of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee’s work programme, a themed report on growth, and the East London Joint Waste Plan. Councillors were also expected to discuss motions relating to housing and developer contributions, and to answer questions from both the public and council members. The council was also scheduled to hear from Sunder Katwala of British Futures on the work of the Commission for the Future of Belonging & Inclusion in Newham.
