Licensing (2003 Act) Sub-Committee - Thursday 6th March 2025 10.00 a.m.

The Licensing Sub-Committee met to discuss a review of the premises licence for Variety Foods, 20 Carlton Terrace, Forest Gate, London, E7 8LH. The Sub-Committee decided not to adjourn the review, despite a request from the licence holder to wait for the outcome of a County Court appeal against a fine issued to them. They also decided to proceed with the review in a closed session and to publish their decision at a later date.

The Licensing (2003 Act) Sub-Committee decided to suspend the licence of Maamalas Restaurant in Manor Park for 3 months. They also removed the designated premises supervisor and added five conditions to the licence, after hearing that immigration officers found evidence of illegal working at the restaurant.

The Licensing Sub-Committee decided to revoke the licence of Priya Restaurant, 209 High Street North, East Ham. This followed an application for review from the Home Office Immigration Enforcement team, who had found people working illegally at the restaurant. No representations were received from the licence holder in response to the review application.
