Warwickshire County Council met to discuss and comment on proposals for unitary local government in Warwickshire, with a final decision delegated to the cabinet. The council voted to recommend that the cabinet consider the importance of town and parish councils, that full constituent membership of the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) would be the best arrangement, and that a single unitary council for Warwickshire is the optimum model for local governance. Amendments to the proposals were put forward but were all rejected.

Councillor Wayne Briggs, Portfolio Holder for Education, agreed to launch a consultation regarding the expansion of The Avon Valley School and Performing Arts College. The consultation, which will run from 13 October to 14 November 2025, is required due to an urgent need for more Year 7 places and specialist resourced provision in the area. The decision was made under the council's urgency procedure to ensure that capital works can be completed by Autumn 2027, if approved.

Councillor Wayne Briggs, Portfolio Holder for Education, has approved a consultation on the establishment of a Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) resourced provision at Holy Trinity CofE Primary School in Stratford-upon-Avon. The consultation, set to run from 13 October to 16 November 2025, is a statutory requirement for altering SEN provision at mainstream schools. The resourced provision aims to support up to eight primary-aged pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
