Extraordinary meeting, Council - Thursday, 13 November 2025 4.00 pm, NEW

The council met to discuss and vote on a recommendation to be put to the cabinet regarding local government reorganisation, and ultimately voted to support a single unitary council for the whole Derby and Derbyshire area. The council also agreed to delegate authority to the Interim Chief Executive, Simon Stevens, in discussion with Councillor Alan Graves, Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for Strategic Leadership, to make any amendments and additions to the submission document following feedback from the full council.

Council - Wednesday, 8 October 2025 2.00 pm

Derbyshire County Council met to discuss a range of issues, including budget revisions, appointments, and a motion opposing large-scale solar farms. The council approved revisions to the constitution, appointed an interim chief executive, and supported a motion to oppose large-scale solar farms on greenfield sites.

Resources Scrutiny Committee - Thursday, 25 September 2025 2.00 pm

The Resources Scrutiny Committee was scheduled to meet to discuss the council's talent strategy and to answer questions from the public. The committee was also scheduled to review the minutes from their meeting on 27 February 2025.

Council - Wednesday, 9 July 2025 2.00 pm

The Derbyshire County Council met to discuss local government reorganisation, the 2024-25 budget, and performance monitoring. Councillors agreed to undertake public and key stakeholder engagement to seek views about alternative options for local government reorganisation to inform the preparation of final proposals. They also approved the performance and budget monitoring outturn for 2024-25, and changes to committee memberships.

Council - Wednesday, 21 May 2025 2.00 pm

At the annual general meeting of Derbyshire County Council, Councillor Nick Adams was elected as Chairman and Civic Chairman of the council for 2025-26, and Councillor Jodie Brown was elected as Vice Civic Chairman. Councillor Alan Graves was appointed Leader of the Council for the next four years. Councillors also approved committee memberships, the schedule of meetings, and appointments to outside bodies for the upcoming year.
