The Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday 11 November 2020 was set to cover a range of topics, from council business and councillor issues to future policy and budget setting. A key item on the agenda was a motion concerning the funding of free school meal vouchers for pupils in Westminster.
Councillor Issues
Councillor Angela Harvey was scheduled to raise a discussion on Arts and Culture in Westminster
. Additionally, Councillor Eoghain Murphy was set to address Ensuring a Sustainable Investment Future for our Pensioners and the City

Notices of Motion
A motion, to be moved by Councillor Tim Roca and seconded by Councillor Papya Qureshi, was scheduled for consideration. This motion highlighted that according to the last Department for Education census there were 5491 pupils known to be eligible for and claiming free school meals in Westminster's schools.
The motion proposed that the Council resolves to follow the lead of other local authorities, including RBKC, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Camden, in funding the free school meal voucher scheme in the coming school holidays, and in the absence of funding from central government to continue this provision until Easter 2021.

Future Policy Plan
The Council was scheduled to consider items for debate from the attached Future Policy Plan, which was detailed on pages 13 to 18 of the agenda documents.
Report of the Director of Law
The Director of Law's report was set to cover the Programme of Meetings 2021/2022 and Future Budget Setting.
Lord Mayor's Communications
The Lord Mayor was scheduled to report on a series of engagements and visits undertaken between September and October 2020. These included attending the Military Wives Choir Recording & Interview at Tileyard Studios, the Battle of Britain Thanksgiving Service & reception at the Abbey, and a preview of 'Refugees: Forced to Flee' at the Imperial War Museum. Other reported engagements included a meeting with the Ambassador of Norway at the Norwegian Embassy, a visit to volunteers for Silver Sunday/Westminster Connects at the Dryburgh Community Hall, and a visit to Public Hall in Horseguards Avenue to learn about the collaborative workspace. The Lord Mayor was also scheduled to report on attending a Wigmore Hall Recital, taking part in a filmed discussion with John Gilhooly, Executive and Artistic Director of the Wigmore Hall, attending the LMA Civic Service/Evensong at the Abbey, and presenting certificates to Police Cadets at the Pimlico Academy. Finally, the Lord Mayor was to report on visits to the Pimlico Million and Radio 3 Pimlico to learn about locally funded projects.

Free school meals are provided to eligible pupils in England to ensure they receive a nutritious meal during the school day. The provision of vouchers during school holidays is a measure some local authorities have implemented to support families facing financial hardship. ↩
