The Croydon Council Appointments & Disciplinary Committee met to recommend that the Full Council appoint Elaine Jackson as Interim Chief Executive for a 12-month period. The committee agreed to put forward this recommendation, noting that the appointment would provide leadership continuity during a period of significant transformation for the council, especially with the upcoming local and mayoral elections in May 2026. The Croydon Council cabinet met to discuss the 2026-30 medium term financial strategy, safeguarding, social care, housing and financial performance, and agreed to implement recommendations regarding scrutiny, safeguarding, social work and housing.
