Overview & Scrutiny Committee - Monday, 15th September, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Overview & Scrutiny Committee (OSC) of Tower Hamlets Council met on 15 September 2025, to discuss the Youth Justice Strategic Plan, the council's gambling policy, budget monitoring, and the committee's work programme. The committee agreed to endorse the Youth Justice Strategic Plan 2025-2028 and recommend the adoption of the revised Statement of Gambling Policy to the full council. They also reviewed the budget monitoring report for the first quarter of 2025-26 and discussed the overview and scrutiny work programme for 2025-26, agreeing to a compromise to allow for future amendments.

Interviews for Director of HR & OD, Appointment Sub-Committee - Monday, 8th September, 2025 10.15 a.m.

The Tower Hamlets Appointment Sub-Committee met to interview candidates for the position of Director of HR & OD and determine which candidate, if any, should be offered the post. The sub-committee agreed to exclude the press and public from the meeting due to the confidential nature of the information to be discussed. They also agreed to hold another meeting on Tuesday 9 September 2025.

Health & Adults Scrutiny Sub-Committee - Thursday, 4th September, 2025 6.30 p.m.

The Health and Adults Scrutiny Sub-Committee met to discuss accident and emergency (A&E) waiting times, winter planning, and the committee's draft work programme. The committee heard that Royal London Hospital A&E is performing well, and discussed ways to improve performance further. They also scrutinised the Tower Hamlets winter plan, and agreed to add the Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection findings to their work programme.

Shortlisting for Director HR & OD, Appointment Sub-Committee - Monday, 18th August, 2025 5.00 p.m.

This meeting of the Tower Hamlets Council Appointments Sub-Committee was scheduled to discuss shortlisting candidates for the role of Director of HR & OD[^2]. The committee was also expected to confirm the minutes of a previous meeting, and to exclude the press and public from the majority of the meeting due to the confidential nature of the topics to be discussed.
